With its smoky color, narrow streak
of the white line and iridescent possessions, the chrysoberyl stone appears
like a sleek Felidae winking at you when natural light strikes its surface.
Hence, it became popularly known as the cat's eye stone. The term chrysoberyl
is taken from the Greek phrase meaning gold-colored beryl. However, this
stunning rock is not from the beryl family; instead, it is an aluminum oxide
rock containing beryllium. The colors of a cat's eye stones vary from amber,
similar to the hue of a tiger's eye, to green.
Ancient Egyptian legend has it that
the cat's eye was embedded in a pharaoh's ring. When the stone was opened, it
was supposed that their god was angry, and only the sacrifice of an
individual's life could console him. In ancient China, it is believed there
once was a dragon woman of the Qing Dynasty who'd great power since she relied
on the magic and mystical qualities of a cat's attention stone, which she put
beneath her pillow every night so that she might dream of the way to settle
significant decisions and things. In Indian astrology, this jewel is called
Lehsunia or Vaiduria. It is said to represent the planet Ketu, which is
believed to have karmic influences.
Many individuals throughout ancient
times used this gem to defend against disasters. In contrast, others associated
with the cat's eye rock with discipline, self-control, and used this to help
them learn and be capable of thinking more clearly. It's also said to possess
the magical capability to turn pessimistic thoughts into positive ones, thus promoting
tolerance and harmony. Its luxurious golden tones and floral colors, amongst
its other magical properties, may also encourage wealth, prosperity, and
richness with the cat's eye rock. Set on jewelry, like a silver ring, with the
