Vishnu Sahasranama Puja

Lord Vishnu is one of the three primary forms of God in Hinduism. He is the supreme deity of the Vaishnava sect, and his name signifies his primary role as the preserver and protector of creation. Lord Vishnu is often depicted as having blue skin, four arms, a conch shell, a discus, a mace, and a lotus flower. Laxmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity, accompanies Lord Vishnu.

Lord Vishnu's thousand name list is the Lord Vishnu Sahasranama (where 'Sahasra' means thousand and "nama" means name).

The Lord Vishnu Sahasranama Stotra is a devotional Vedic hymn that praises Lord Vishnu's thousand (1000) names. The Lord Vishnu sahasranama Stotra is found in the 149th chapter of the Great Epic Mahabharatha, titled Anushasana Parva. Yudhishthira, the eldest of the Pancha Pandavas, learns the Lord Vishnu Sahasranama sloka from the legendary warrior Bhishma Pitamaha.

Invocation of significant deities, worship of Lord Vishnu yantra, recitation of Lord Vishnu sahasranama, and aarti are all part of the ritual.
